FAQ

Frequently asked questions

18 questions buyers actually send us, answered without hedging. Where an answer depends on your article, quantity or the week you order, it says so — because that is the truthful answer.

Before you read

How to read these answers

Two habits run through this page, and they are deliberate.

  • Minimums, lead times and availability are usual values confirmed per order, never fixed promises.
  • Certification is completed to your buyer requirement rather than claimed as a standing badge.
Categories

What we supply

Three fabric families, and the honest answer for what sits outside them.

Which fabric categories do you supply?

Three: yarn-dyed woven, TR and poly-viscose blends, and knit. Garment production can be coordinated as an add-on where the category is stably supported — sleepwear, shirts, down jackets, knit tees, polos and hoodies — but fabric is the business, and we do not present ourselves as a garment factory.

Can you work from a reference sample or a garment instead of a specification?

Yes, and it is a common starting point. Send the reference garment or swatch with the end use and target price. We will read the construction back to you — composition, weight, width, finish — and tell you what is achievable and what would have to change, before any sampling cost is committed.

Sampling and colour

Swatches, lab dips and approvals

How a colour is agreed, and why the sequence matters more than the speed of any single step.

How long does sampling take?

Handloom and lab dip are usually 7–10 days, development samples usually 20–30 days from a confirmed specification, and spot cutting usually 5 working days where stock is available. All of these are subject to confirmation against the production calendar at the time you order.

Is the A4 swatch really free?

The A4 swatch itself is free. Courier is charged to your own courier account, which keeps it fast and keeps the swatch free of charge. Send the delivery address and any article references you already have.

What is the difference between a lab dip and a sample?

A lab dip answers the colour question: a small dyeing used to match your target shade. A development sample answers the construction question: weight, width, handle, pattern scale and finish. They are approved separately, and bulk colour is matched to the approved lab dip rather than to the swatch on its own.

How many rounds of sampling should we expect?

It depends on how far the brief is from a construction we already run. A colour adjustment is normally quick; a new construction can take more than one round. The number of rounds is agreed with the quotation rather than fixed in advance, subject to confirmation.

Minimums and pricing

Order quantities and how price is set

Minimums are usual values, not thresholds printed in stone. They move with the article and the yarn.

What are your minimum order quantities?

Usual minimums are 2,000–3,000 m for yarn-dyed woven, 2,000 m for TR, and 500 kg for knit, quoted by weight. Special yarns and unusual colour requirements are agreed case by case and often sit higher. The exact minimum for your article is confirmed when we quote — always subject to confirmation, never a standing promise.

Can I get a price list?

No, and a published list would mislead you. Fabric is priced per article against your specification, quantity and finish, so the price follows the construction. Send the composition, weight, width, colour and quantity per colour and we come back with a quoted figure once the specification, quantity and supply conditions are verified. Our target for a first manual response is within 1 working hour on business days.

How long is a quotation valid?

Validity is not a fixed number of days. It is set per order by the article, the quantity and the upstream price-lock conditions at the time of quoting, and it is written into the quotation. For new orders the validity of exchange rate, freight and fuel surcharge is stated separately.

Is spot stock more expensive than custom production?

Yes. Spot cloth is bought and held, so it carries the cost of holding and is priced above custom production of the same article. It is worth it when you need a small quantity or a fast colour check; it is not the route to the lowest price on bulk volume.

Lead time

From confirmation to shipment

Lead time is quoted per order, because it depends on the article, the yarn and the calendar at that moment.

How long is bulk production?

Usually 30–60 days after sample approval and order confirmation. The figure moves with the article, the yarn and the finishing route, so the working lead time for your order is given with the quotation and is subject to confirmation.

What happens if the schedule slips?

You are told as soon as it is known, with the reason and a revised date, not at the ship date. Changing yarn or finishing availability is the usual cause, and the earlier you know, the more room you have to move your own production plan.

Shipping and DDP

Freight, consolidation and delivery terms

Sea, air and express forwarding, with duty-paid delivery available for destinations in 200+ countries.

Do you handle shipping or do we arrange our own forwarder?

Either. We can quote freight and arrange shipment, or work ex-warehouse with your nominated forwarder. Goods ship from Shenzhen or Shanghai, and articles from more than one production run can be consolidated into a single shipment, which is usually the cheapest change available.

Can you deliver duty-paid, and to which countries?

Yes. Duty-paid, customs-cleared delivery to the door is available for destinations in 200+ countries, so you can quote your own customer a landed price instead of carrying clearance and duty yourself. Coverage, terms and timing are set per shipment, subject to confirmation.

Which payment terms do you offer?

Payment terms are agreed per order and stated in the order documents — nothing is published here, because terms depend on the order, the destination and the established relationship. Ask the commercial team when you request a quotation and you will get a specific answer for that order.

Quality and after-sales

Inspection, claims and remedies

Who is responsible for quality, and what actually happens when something is wrong.

What if the bulk does not match the approved sample?

Tell us as soon as it is found, with photographs, quantity affected and retained samples where you have them. Feedback is acknowledged within 1 working day and a plan follows within 7 working days once the evidence and samples are complete. Remedies are make-up fabric, a re-run, an equivalent deduction or a price adjustment, capped at the contract value of the verified affected fabric, with no duplicate compensation for the same loss.

Will I see the inspection results before shipment?

Yes. Inspection findings are shared before shipment so you can decide while the goods are still in our warehouse — release them, have the affected rolls remade, or agree a deduction. Our own QC system carries the responsibility for the goods, and this is the main reason inspection and warehousing sit in the same operation.

Certification

Documents and compliance

Certification is completed against your buyer requirement, not claimed as a standing badge.

Are your fabrics certified?

We can complete certifications to your buyer requirement. Work such as PFAS-free C0 DWR, non-iron and easy-care finishing, and organic cotton has been produced, and RWS or GRS can be supported where the relevant product documents exist. We do not describe ourselves as holding a certification, and certificate scans are confirmed against the specific order rather than published as a general claim.

Not covered

If your question is not here

Some answers only make sense against a specific article, quantity and destination.

Send the specification

Composition, weight, width, colour, quantity per colour and the end garment are enough for a first answer. Anything you do not know yet can be worked out from a reference sample.

Ask about your order specifically

Payment terms, quotation validity and expedited timing are agreed per order and written into the order documents. Email the commercial team with the order context and you will get a specific answer.

Still deciding? Ask the exact question

Write the question as you would put it to a colleague. Our target for a first manual response is within 1 working hour on business days. It is answered by someone who can quote it. Formal quotations follow once the requirement and supply conditions are verified.

Minimums, lead times and availability are confirmed per order.
