We can complete certifications. We will not claim ones we do not hold

Nothing on this page says we are certified today. Tell us what your buyer’s requirement list contains and which article it applies to, and we will come back with what can be completed for that order, what it depends on, and what it adds to the timeline.

Our position

Claims that cannot be evidenced are not made

Certification is a chain exercise. The document has to exist before anything is said about it.

What we hold today: Three states are kept apart, and we say which one applies: not certified, not applied for, and in progress. Certificate scans are provided as they are completed for an order. Where a scheme is still in progress, we say it is in progress rather than displaying a mark we cannot back with a document.
What we will not do: We do not claim a certification, a test result or a laboratory that we cannot produce a document for. That applies on this page, in quotations and in conversation.
How a claim is made: Only with the certificate or the test report in hand, issued for the article and the period concerned, and passed to you with the shipment documents.
Who issues it: The document belongs to the party that holds the scope — the spinner, the mill, the finisher or us, depending on the scheme. We will tell you which, and in whose name it is issued.
Environmental claims: We make none that are not backed by a document. No offset-based or similar environmental claim appears on this site or in our quotations.

Three different things

Raw material, functional finishing, and documents

These are not interchangeable: a fibre source is a composition question, a finish is a process we ran, and a certification is a document issued for an order.

Raw material and composition

Organic cotton

A fibre source, not a finish. We can run it where the chain supplying the yarn can document it, and the claim depends on the transaction certificate for the shipment rather than on a label or a picture.

Cotton, cotton-linen and cotton-rich blends

Composition is stated as percentages on the specification and confirmed against the yarn lot used for the order.

T/R (poly-viscose) and stretch blends

Dyed and finished to the agreed specification. Where a buyer asks for recycled content, it depends on documentation upstream in the same way as any other content claim.

Functional finishing

PFAS-free C0 DWR

Water repellency from C0 chemistry rather than fluorocarbon. Run on woven outerwear and on shirting programmes where the buyer specified it.

Non-iron

A resin finish for shirts and uniform cloth. Performance is stated against the care instruction the garment will carry, and confirmed per order.

Easy care

Soil release and wrinkle recovery for shirting and bottoms that are washed constantly, including in uniform use.

Certification and test documents

RWS: Supportable where the wool in the product can be traced and documented by the chain that supplies it, and where a transaction certificate can be issued for the shipment.
GRS: Supportable on the same basis: the recycled content has to be documented upstream and certified through to the finished fabric.
Buyer-specific schemes: If the requirement list names a scheme such as OEKO-TEX, or a retailer or brand standard of your own, we assess it against the article before promising anything.
The limit: Where the chain cannot produce the documents, the article cannot be sold as certified. We will say so at enquiry stage rather than after the order is placed.
Timing: Completing a certification is a chain exercise, not a form. It has to run alongside the fabric, which means it starts at the enquiry, not after the order.

Ask for the finish document or the certificate with the order. A finish or a scheme claimed without one is only a description.

What buyers usually put on the requirement list

A general picture, not a legal opinion. The list that matters is the one your buyer sends you.

European Union	Finishes free of PFAS, a restricted substances list to a current version, fibre composition and care labelling, and increasingly documented recycled or organic content.	The requirement list in the buyer’s own wording, the scheme name and version, and the article it applies to.
United States	Cotton origin and traceability documentation, fibre composition, and the brand’s own restricted substances list. The evidence obligation sits with the importer.	The document set your customs broker or compliance team needs, and in whose name each document must be issued.
Australia and New Zealand	Finish performance with test evidence — water repellency, easy care — plus composition and care labelling.	The performance standard or wash test the buyer will apply to the claim.
Africa	Composition, packing, labelling and the paperwork the clearing agent needs at destination.	The destination country, the labelling language, and the date the documents have to be in hand.

From 27 September 2026 the EU rules on green claims apply. Unsubstantiated environmental claims on products sold into the EU become a legal exposure for the seller, not a marketing question. That is one reason a claim we make has to be a claim we can evidence with a document.

Compliance work adds cost and time to an order, and both are quoted with the article rather than absorbed into the price without a note.
