DDP · 200+ countries

Duty paid, customs cleared, delivered to your door

We can quote a delivered price that includes duty and destination charges for destinations in 200+ countries, so the landed cost of the fabric is known before it leaves China. It is not the only one. Terms depend on the destination and the volume, and are confirmed per order.

What DDP means

The customs process does not land on your desk

DDP means delivered duty paid. In practice it removes the parts of an import that most often stop a shipment after it has already arrived.

Duty paid
Import duty and the taxes that fall due at destination are paid by us, not by you on arrival.
Customs cleared
Export clearance in China and import clearance at destination are both handled, including the entries and the inspections that go with them.
Delivered to the door
The shipment is moved from the port to the address you give us, not left at the terminal for you to collect.
One delivered price
You are quoted a single price for the fabric delivered to that address, instead of separate freight, clearance and duty invoices.
One point of contact
The order, the documents and the delivery are followed by the same team that sold the fabric.
Delivered quantity
The DDP price is built on the volume and the article mix you confirm. A change in either is re-quoted before shipment.
Coverage

200+ countries, quoted per shipment

Coverage is not a blanket promise — it is checked against the destination city, the volume and the article mix before we commit to a delivered price.

Africa

Inland cities away from the port included. Duty, destination taxes and the final delivery are all carried on our side.

Europe, North America, Australia

Door delivery with duty and destination charges settled before the goods arrive, quoted against the destination city and the volume you confirm.

Middle East and Asia

Same structure, quoted per shipment. Tell us the city and we confirm what can be arranged before you commit to the order.

Everything else

Duty-paid delivery can be quoted for 200+ countries. Coverage, terms and transit are confirmed per shipment, so send the destination and we will check it.

Send the destination country and city and we confirm whether duty-paid delivery can be arranged for that shipment.

Compared

DDP against conventional sea freight

The difference is not the ship, it is who owns the clearance and where responsibility ends.

Who it suits

Usually a buyer who wants the landed cost fixed

DDP is not the cheapest route on paper. It is chosen when a delay at the port costs more than the difference.

Traders importing to sell

Where you need the landed cost on the goods before you price them on, and you would rather not carry a clearance file yourself.

Buyers sending fabric to a factory

Where the fabric has to reach a garment unit in another city and a delay at the port would stop a production line.

Buyers without a broker

Where there is no customs broker on your side, or where the duty and tax treatment at destination is the part you least want to own.

If you already have a broker and your own inland haulage, FOB or CIF will usually cost less. Ask us to quote both so the comparison is on the same volume.
To quote it

What we need, and the documents that go with it

A DDP price is built on the destination, the volume and the article mix. Give us five lines of information and the quote can be firm for that shipment.

What we need to quote

  • Destination country and city
  • Delivery address, and whether it can take a container or needs a smaller vehicle
  • Volume: metres or kilograms, cartons, and the cubic volume if you have it
  • Article mix: how many articles and colours, and which are the bulky ones
  • Trade term you are comparing against, if your purchase order already names one
  • Whether the shipment combines with other cargo of yours

Clearance documents

  • Commercial invoice and packing list for the order
  • Bill of lading or air waybill for the shipment
  • Certificate of origin, where the destination applies a preferential rate
  • Product test reports and any certification the buyer requires, completed to their requirement where the product documents support it
  • Consignee details, tax or importer registration number where the destination requires one, and a contact who can take delivery
  • Any import permit or pre-shipment inspection document the destination requires for textiles

Requirements differ by destination. Where a document cannot be issued for an article, we say so before the order rather than at the port.

Price, transit and questions

How the delivered price is built, at a high level

You receive one delivered price for the volume and the address you confirmed. The components below are what it has to cover.

The fabric
Article, quantity and packing, at the price quoted for the order.
Export side
Inland haulage to the loading port, export documentation and terminal charges.
Freight
Sea or air freight to the destination, chosen against the delivery window you need.
Destination charges
Duty, destination taxes, clearance fees, port handling and any inspection at destination.
Delivery
The final move from the port or clearance point to the address you gave us.
We do not publish internal cost figures or the charges we pay to third parties. Ask the commercial team for the delivered price against your own volume and address.
Transit

Typical ranges, subject to confirmation

Sea DDPMeasured in weeks door to door. The exact range depends on the destination, the sailing schedule and clearance.
Air DDPMeasured in days rather than weeks, at a higher cost per kilogram.
Destination differencesPort congestion, inland distance and clearance workload move the range more than the sailing does.

Ranges are typical, subject to confirmation, and are not a guaranteed delivery date.

What buyers ask before a first DDP shipment

Which destinations can be quoted DDP?

Duty-paid delivery can be quoted for 200+ countries. Terms depend on the country, the city and the volume, so send the destination and we will confirm what can be arranged before you commit — coverage is confirmed per shipment.

Is the DDP price the same as a CIF price plus duty?

No. A CIF quote stops at your destination port, so duty, clearance and inland delivery sit outside it. The DDP price carries all of that and is delivered to your address, so it is a different number and a different level of risk.

Who pays the duty — and can I see the breakdown?

We pay it and include it in the delivered price. We do not publish internal cost figures or the components we pay to third parties; the quotation you receive is a single delivered price for the volume and the address you confirmed.

How is the price fixed if my volume changes?

The DDP price is built on the volume and the article mix you confirm. If either changes before shipment, we re-quote before production or loading so you are not surprised on arrival.

What if the goods are delayed at destination?

Clearance delays are handled on our side, and you are told about them as they happen. Transit ranges quoted are typical, subject to confirmation, and are not a fixed guarantee.

Can I use my own forwarder instead?

Yes. You can nominate your own forwarder or broker and take the shipment on FOB or CIF terms instead. DDP is one option, not a condition of buying.
